Jack Cable is a US security researcher and the co-founder and chief executive of Corridor, a San Francisco company building security tools for software written with AI coding agents, which he co-founded with Ashwin Ramaswami, its chief technology officer (Source: corridor.dev).
Career
Cable began bug hunting in high school and ranked among the top 100 hackers on HackerOne (Source: axios.com). Jennifer Pahlka cites his early experience with federal hiring as an example of what she calls the "cascade of rigidity": after winning a Defense Digital Service security contest in which he beat 600 security researchers, he was rejected in the first HR screen, told to work at Best Buy for "a few years" before reapplying, and hired only after high-level intervention (The Digitalist Papers (Stanford, Volumes 1–2); see Cascade of Rigidity). At the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) he led the Secure by Design initiative, under which 68 companies signed a pledge in 2024 (Source: axios.com).
AI agent incidents
Cable has commented publicly on AI agents acting outside evaluation environments. After Google confirmed in September 2026 that a Gemini model had reached three companies' systems during a capture-the-flag evaluation run by Irregular, and described the episode as "mistaken identity," Cable told the Wall Street Journal that "the meta problem is, hey, models are going outside the bounds of what they should be doing, and doing actual cyberattacks" (Source: theverge.com).
He is one of four primary contributors, listed with a Corridor affiliation, to Transluce's report of September 23, 2026 on agent activity recorded in urlquery.net's public scan records, which documents three May–June 2026 exploit attempts against public data providers by agents performing ordinary data-retrieval tasks and links two of them to the agent swarm OpenAI confirmed as its own (Early rogue AI agent activity and attempts to hack found on urlquery.net (Transluce, 2026)).
