Jensen Huang is the Taiwanese-American co-founder, president, and chief executive of Nvidia, a position he has held since the company's founding in 1993. He holds a BS from Oregon State and an MS in electrical engineering from Stanford. Under his leadership Nvidia became the primary supplier of training hardware to frontier AI laboratories, placing him at the center of the global AI compute supply chain.
Background and career
Huang co-founded Nvidia in 1993 as a consumer graphics company. The company subsequently moved through gaming GPUs, the CUDA platform (introduced 2006), and deep-learning acceleration (from 2012), and supplies training hardware including the H100, H200, and B100/B200 Blackwell parts to major frontier AI labs. The CUDA platform build (from 2006) established Nvidia's software moat. Huang oversaw the Blackwell generation (B100/B200, 2024–2025) and the Rubin successor roadmap, and made public visits to China in 2024 and 2025 during export-control tensions. Positions on AI policy
Export controls
Huang has been publicly critical of US chip export controls on China, arguing that they accelerate Chinese domestic substitutes, including Huawei Ascend, rather than slowing them. He called export controls a "failure" in 2024–2025 public statements, though Nvidia continues to comply. The company has engineered multiple compliant SKUs for the Chinese market under BIS rules, including the A800, H800, and H20, a pattern the BIS has repeatedly tightened. AGI and compute demand
Huang has expressed skepticism about near-term AGI claims while remaining bullish on the compute-demand trajectory. He repeatedly invokes a "new industrial revolution" framing and argues that data-center capital expenditure is early rather than late.
AI jobs and the Mythos comment
On the May 1, 2026 Dwarkesh Patel podcast, Huang pushed back on rival CEOs' AI job-loss predictions, calling the predictions "hurtful" and the work of leaders with "a God complex." He specifically rejected forecasts from Dario Amodei ("50% of entry-level white-collar jobs in five years"), Mustafa Suleyman ("18 months"), and Elon Musk ("end of all human jobs"). Demis Hassabis also publicly rejected the bloodbath narrative.
